This is an opportunity to listen and learn from the Reverend Canon Andrew Wingfield Digby about “Christians in Sport” and the important role chaplains play in the religious and pastoral aspects of sportsmen and women.
Andrew is the Vicar of St Andrew’s Church in Oxford. Previously, he was the first National Director of “Christians in Sport” – a position he held until 2002.
During the 1988, 2000 and 2012 Olympics, Andrew was the chaplain to Team GB and was also the spiritual advisor to the England cricket team under the Chairmanship of Ted Dexter.
A keen cricketer who played 39 1st class matches for the University of Oxford and in later years 69 matches for Dorset, also played for the Combined Universities and the Minor Counties.
Doors open at 19:00. Talk starts at 19:30. Refreshments at 21:00.
